Hackathon certificates for participants and teams
Upload the participant sheet, edit a template, and download one certificate per row. A Team column is not one of the six mapped fields, but you can insert {{team}} and it will match a header named Team.
Hackathon lists often include a person and a team. Print the person as the recipient and the team inside the sentence. The Workshop starter is a reasonable start because it already says participant. Change the title to the event name.
Suggested template: Workshop. You can edit every line of it, then download PDF, PNG, or JPG.
Steps
- 1.Export the attendee list. Include Name, Event, Date, Team, and Organizer. One person per row, even when people share a team.
- 2.Map name, event, and date. Leave Team unmapped. Insert {{team}} in the certificate text instead.
- 3.Insert {{team}} in the body. In the editor, focus the body field and use Insert column. Unknown tokens print as an empty string, so the header spelling must match.
- 4.Preview a team name, then download. Tap a row and check the team appears. Then download PDF, PNG, or JPG for the rows your plan allows.
Free covers 10 certificates per batch, with a small sheetcerts mark. Batch pass is $5 once for up to 200, without the mark. Pro is $19 a month or $190 a year, up to 500 a month, with saved templates. Team is $39 a month or $390 a year, up to 3,000 a month, with a public check page.
sheetcerts creates certificates from the text and spreadsheet you provide. It is not a school, an exam board, or an accrediting body.

Questions
Can I make one certificate per team instead of per person?
Yes. Put one row per team and use the team name as the recipient column.
What if the header is Team name?
Insert {{Team name}} or rename the header to Team. Matching ignores case and extra space inside the braces.
Can I award first place with different text?
Use a column such as Award and write the body to include {{award}}. People without a prize can have a blank award cell, so word the sentence so a blank still reads well.
